Digital fabrication laboratory FabLab Sunderland has officially joined the Hope Street Xchange family. Moving from the University of Sunderland’s Shackleton House, it has now opened its shiny new doors and the 3D printers and laser cutters are ready and raring to go! Fablab Sunderland is the first of its kind in the North East. Now based within Hope Street Xchange, FabLab Sunderland is part of a global network of digital fabrication spaces. It has a range of equipment available including 3D printers, laser cutters, vinyl cutters and a high specification CNC router and runs a programme of workshops and events throughout the year.
The FabLab is a place brimming with opportunities for learning and innovation, bringing individuals, communities and businesses together. It can be used for education, technological empowerment, skills and technical training, team building, individual projects, problem solving, grass roots research, high tech business incubation and to help turbocharge prototypes to market.
It can be commissioned to work with your team at all stages of project development, offering a range of services to businesses including consultation, design, prototyping and manufacturing.
